What is Strand?
Strand is a training log built for hybrid athletes. Gym sessions, runs, swims and nutrition all live in one app instead of being split across separate tools, so your training reads as one picture rather than four disconnected ones.
Who is Strand for?
People who train across more than one discipline in the same week. If you lift and run, lift and swim, or do all three, most apps only handle one of those properly. Strand is built for the overlap.
What does conflict detection actually do?
Strand reads training load across every discipline at once rather than one at a time. A heavy leg session and a long run in the same 48 hours is invisible to a single-sport app. Strand flags it before your body does.
What does Strand cost?
Starter is free and covers gym, run and swim logging, the home dashboard, load detection and basic stats. Plus is £7.99 a month or £49.99 a year and adds nutrition tracking and the social feed. Pro is £12.99 a month or £99.99 a year and adds leaderboards, full PR history, cross-discipline insights and taper mode. Pro includes a 7-day free trial.
Is Strand on iPhone and Android?
Both. Strand is available on the
App Store for iPhone and on
Google Play for Android. Download it free and upgrade to Plus or Pro whenever you are ready.
Does Strand track runs with GPS?
Yes. Start a run and Strand tracks distance, pace and time with GPS, even with your phone locked. Set a distance or time goal, get audio cues every kilometre, and follow the run live on your Lock Screen: a Live Activity on iPhone and a live notification on Android. Afterwards every run has its route map, km splits, heart rate and calories. Treadmill mode covers indoor runs.
Can I scan food barcodes to count calories?
Yes. Scan a barcode and the food logs itself with calories and macros filled in. Strand also has a 300+ food library, a macro tracker for protein, carbs and fat, and daily calorie targets that sit alongside your training.
Does Strand sync with Apple Watch, Garmin or Whoop?
Yes, through your phone's health app. Connect Apple Health on iPhone or Health Connect on Android and Strand imports the runs, swims and gym sessions your watch records, including Apple Watch, Garmin and WHOOP, with heart rate and calories. On iPhone, runs you record in Strand also save back to Apple Health. There is no direct Strava integration, and Strand is not affiliated with any of these brands.
What is a hybrid training app?
A hybrid training app tracks strength and endurance training together, so lifting, running and swimming sit in one log instead of separate apps. That matters because the sessions affect each other: a heavy leg day changes how your next run should go. Strand is built around that overlap. Read more in our
guide to hybrid training.
Can I sign up with Google or Apple?
Yes. You can create a Strand account with Google, with Apple, or with an email and password, either in the app or on this website. It is the same account everywhere.
